A New Chapter Begins …
It’s been a little quieter than usual on the blog this past month, and if you’ve noticed the gap, thank you for sticking with me. The truth is simple: I’ve been in a holding pattern, waiting for news and clarity about the next steps for The BUG Boys. And today, I finally get to share the update I’ve been praying I could write.
I’m thrilled to officially announce that The BUG Boys: The Great Scavenger Hunt is moving forward with Ambassador International, a respected Christian publisher committed to producing books that point readers toward truth, hope, and the heart of the gospel. I’m incredibly honored to partner with a team whose mission aligns so closely with the purpose behind this story. You can learn more about Ambassador International here.
With production now in motion and collaboration underway with their editorial and marketing staff, this stretch of the journey already feels like a fresh start. While I don’t have an exact release date yet, we’re aiming for the next several months, most likely early summer. And honestly, that timing feels right. It gives space for a strong launch, homeschool conventions, and plenty of momentum heading into the months ahead.
But more than schedules and timelines, I want to share a bit of what God has been doing in the quiet places.
When the Story Goes Quiet, God Still Moves
One of the hardest parts of writing, and really, of life, is the waiting season. Not the big, dramatic kind, but the quiet kind where the surface looks still even though so much is happening underneath.
That’s been my last few months.
I kept moving forward behind the scenes—coming up with new marketing ideas and reviewing parts of The BUG Boys I hoped to strengthen. I didn’t have anything big to share publicly while Ambassador worked through a busy season of their own, but God was still quietly growing things. It’s amazing how silence can feel like nothing is happening, when in reality, that’s often where God does some of His best work.
This book has been on my heart for years, and during that quiet stretch, I found myself praying again for the readers who will pick it up—kids who might see themselves in Josiah, Zeke, or David, who need courage, reassurance, and a reminder that God is near even when life feels confusing.
And while I didn’t know the timing, I knew the purpose never stopped.
Back in Motion (And Excited for What’s Ahead)
Now that production with Ambassador has officially begun, I’m excited to jump back into a steady blogging rhythm. My plan is to post twice a month, enough to stay connected and keep the journey moving, but not so much that it overwhelms anyone’s inbox or feed.
I’ll also be posting updates from the Ambassador team—cover direction, edits, production milestones, and everything that leads toward holding this book in my hands for the first time. If you enjoy watching a project unfold step by step, this is the perfect season to follow along.
A Story I Can’t Wait to Share
As we move into this next stage, I’m more excited than ever for kids to meet Josiah, Zeke, and David. Their friendship, questions, courage, and humor are the heart of this story, and I can already picture the moments young readers will laugh at, think about, or hold onto. Seeing these characters finally make their way into the hands of real kids is something I’ve been praying for from the beginning—and now that we’re getting closer, it feels incredibly real.
Let’s Keep Going—Together
